Mother + Daughters Iao Valley

The first time that we visited Maui and found the hidden gem called Iao Valley I knew it was going to be a place we visited often due to its beauty. When we moved to island we hardly knew anyone so my son Jace had the spotlight on him each time we went adventuring/location scouting. I had the joy of photographing so many wonderful families back in Southern California but wanted to begin building my island portfolio so I did a model call for some Mini Sessions here on Maui. A beautiful soul named Leah responded to my post about doing a session with her two lovely daughters and we decided to shoot a morning session nestled beneath the Maui mountains in Iao Valley. Our session date arrived and we had the park to ourselves other than the resident wild chickens who were crowing to make their presence known. The sun hid behind some low hanging clouds but every so often would pop out to sprinkle some sunlight throughout the leaves of the vines that grew on the tall trees that stood over us. Leah and her daughters radiated the aloha spirit with their kindness throughout the entire session. Our time together was filled with laughter and wonderful conversations about Disneyland, parenthood, and she kindly told me of some amazing parks on the island to take our young son to. Sessions this like this always make me feel so extremely blessed to have a job that I love and allows me to meet such amazing people.
