Morning photoshoots in Maui will always have my heart - The lighting, the colors, and starting ones day with ocean views/toes in the sand makes for a 10/10 photoshoot experience. A majority of my clientele are those with kiddos where the idea of corralling the family before the sun has popped up for a photoshoot does not sound ideal. I 100% get that. However, in all of my years of being a family photographer and my 8 years of being one in Hawaii I have yet to meet a family where the kids ( or partner ) really are not having it for an AM session. About 97% of the time when I meet with my clients I am told how early their family woke up on their own due to either the excitement of being in Hawaii or the time difference. With that said - do not write of an early morning session.

You get it done. BOOM. There is no having to plan your day’s itinerary around being back in time to get ready for a session. Instead you wake up, knock out your family’s photoshoot here in beautiful Hawaii, and then go get breakfast or jump into what you have planned for the day.
Going hand in hand with the above - no one is exhausted from the activities of the day. Keep in mind though that time difference is helpful for waking up with all the adventuring/playing happening during your trip + the time difference that eventually will catch up as the day goes on most kiddos are pretty tuckered out before the early evening.
It’s not hot. We love Hawaii for it’s year round summer vibes but it’s not fun to take photos in super hot temperatures.
With any significant others sometimes they are not too thrilled about sessions so early AM shoots give no time to brood about the upcoming photoshoot day of - rip that band aid off and get it out of the way.
Once again - You get to start your day in stunning Hawaii on a beach with your family !
