Lahaina Family Photoshoot

It is pretty popular to escape cooler weather during the fall-winter months by traveling here to Hawaii where the sun shines year round. However, not advertised on any airline promotions or resort ads is that fall-spring here in Hawaii means rainy season. Though rain here brings lush green mountains , colorful sunrises/sunsets, and rainbows. Downside is that it can also bring on rescheduling for any activities (such as photoshoots) that are not the most fun in any dreary weather.

This beautiful family was scheduled for a sunset photoshoot in Wailea but days leading up to the session date Mother Nature had another plan in mind with heavy rain forecasted. To stay on the safe side we rescheduled for an early morning session in Lahaina at a beach that is known to stay protected from any rainy weather. Though the sun did not make a full appearance the colors that morning were just gorgeous ! We had dark dramatic blue clouds over the open ocean and vivid greens with the palm trees from the way the cloud cover casted the light.

This session is a great example of trusting your photographer and going with the flow. As someone who is a bit of a control freak I know this can be a scary thing to do ( especially when traveling so far ) but all you need to do for a shoot is show up - be yourselves -
