You know what is a match made in heaven ? Southern California sunlight and film. The only thing that makes that combo even better is when you get to photograph two people in love in that mix.
I first was introduced to J when I first moved to Maui - With jumping over from Southern California it’s not the easiest transitioning a photography business so I took a job working down in the Lahaina harbor for my first 2.5 years on island. J had been living on Maui for several years and worked for the same company mine partnered with which is how we were introduced. Fast forward to 2020 when many moved off island including J to San Diego, CA. A few years later she came back to Maui on vacation which is when I was introduced to her lovely significant other P . With so many of my wonderful clientele visiting Maui and residing in San Diego I am fortunate to find myself splitting time between the two areas pretty equally. Sometimes my jumps to the mainland are pretty quick ones but if I have a spare day if not dining at all the incredible establishments San Diego is home to I love to fill my time with taking some photos of new sights.
A few months back I found myself with a bit of free time to meet and catch up with this lovely duo as well as snap some couple photos for the pair. We decided to grab a bite to eat at Communal Coffee located in North Park San Diego and HELLO AESTHETICS ( ++ delicious food/beverages) ! The plan was to snap some photos around the coffee shop but neighboring it was the cutest little nursery which was too good to pass up for a quick photoshoot. We took about 20 minutes of just hanging out to snap some shots which are some of my favorites with the colors, greenery, and lighting.

I will jump at any chance to photograph in the golden state with it’s numerous picturesque locations and once again magic lighting - also as a born/raised Southern Californian the food there is what dreams are made of.
